Route suggestions on Italian Eastern Riviera: between Genoa and Cinque
Terre, probably one of the most beautiful site in the world. Length:

Welcome and have a nice stay
Day 1. Departure
from all the most important American or Canadian cities to Genoa
via London, Rome, Paris. Night flight. Contact your travel agent
for the best choice.
Day 2. Genoa/Levanto. Arrival
in the morning at Genoa Cristoforo Colombo airport. Take
a taxi to Principe train station, where you can buy your
ticket to Levanto. Time: approximately 2 hours.
You may buy your ticket as well on www.raileurope.com. Fares
are very reasonable. Choose Trenitalia 2nd class tariff.
When at Levanto station your private taxi driver will take
you to La Francesca, where you will stay for 12 nights.
Since you have made bookings for A, B, C, or D cottages,
you will be given keys and instructions.
Day 3. La Francesca. Take a rest day and
enjoy the beautiful sea sights. Go for a walk through the
Village, then, in the evening, have a nice dinner at the
restaurant Rosadimare, where you can taste Ligurian traditional
dishes. By the way our chef Maurizio organizes cooking courses

Day 4. La Francesca/Levanto/LaSpezia and
Riomaggiore. In the morning your driver will transfer you
from La Francesca to Levanto train station. Here you can
buy a 3 days' card which will enable you to circulate freely
among the 5 villages of the Cinque Terre. Transfer to and
from Levanto cost 15 Euros for 2 people. The train pass
is very cheap. The taxi is allowed to carry up to 6 people,
so small groups can negotiate the fare.
NB: Taxis fares are lower than cars' or motor-cycles'
ones.
La Spezia, a small town whose centre well represents Italian
customs and usages. From there you can reach, always by
train, the first village of the Cinque Terre: Riomaggiore.
Walk up and down and enjoy the extraordinary views. Every
hour there is a train connecting Levanto with the 5 villages.
Day 5. Levanto/Manarola/Corniglia. This morning too your driver
will transfer you from La Francesca to Levanto train station. Choose your time.
Today visit Manarola and Corniglia, this last one perched high
on a forested cliff. Breath-taking sea view. Free to and
fro shuttle. At your request, your personal driver shall wait for you at Levanto
station.
Day 6. Levanto/Vernazza/Monterosso. Always
with your 3 days' card you can reach Vernazza and Monterosso.
Same beautiful landscapes. but you may also go on shopping
there. The 5 villages are very different each other. Better
to read something about their story and traditions. They
are so peculiar... Which one do you prefer?
Day 7. Day 8. La Francesca. Take a rest
and enjoy the site, the beach, the swimming-pool and all
the activities available at La Francesca.
Day 9. La Francesca/Levanto/Rapallo/Portofino.
Today your taxi will drive you to Levanto station (4 kms).
Buy your ticket to and from Rapallo, one of the most beautiful
town of the Riviera. Visit the cathedral and the sea promenade.
Take the ferry-boat to Portofino. Fare: 10 Euros to and
from, time 30 minutes.
You will be fascinated by the beauty of these sites. Santa
Margherita, another town worth visiting. An unforgettable
day. Take your time and go back to your cottage in the
evening.
Day 10. La Francesca/Bonassola. Today we suggest
you a day dedicated to health. A 4 kms stroll across olivegroves
to Bonassola. You will be enchanted by the Italian hospitality
not only of this beautiful village but also and above all of
La Francesca staff.
Day 11. La Francesca/Via dell'Amore. We recommend
you to take again the train from Levanto to one of the 5 villages
of the Cinque Terre, Manarola. Walking up and down for 30 minutes
along the famous Via dell'Amore you will get to Riomaggiore
across a breathtaking landscape. Back to Levanto you can visit
in a few hours this beautiful small town, full of nice shops
and fine restaurants.
Day 12. La Francesca. Your last day at La
Francesca. Take a rest. Later, have a good supper at the Restaurant
Rosadimare. Book your table.
Day 13. La Francesca/Levanto/Genoa. At 7 a.m. transfer to
Levanto station and departure to Genoa, Principe station. Buy your tickets
in advance if you can.
Genoa, a rich artistic city. Visit the medieval centre,
the historical buildings, the Aquarium, the art shows at
Palazzo Ducale. We recommend you to reserve 2 nights at
the Hotel Helvetia (code La Francesca).

Day 14. Genoa. Take a brochure at the hotel and book a city
tour. Hotel breakfast is included.
Day 15. Genoa/Your final destination. Transfer
to Cristoforo Colombo airport for you final destination.
